Experience Lisboa Wines: Where Tradition Meets the Atlantic Breeze

Untitled_design_(91).png
Nestled north of the vibrant city of Lisboa, this wine region, formerly Estremadura, now Lisboa, stands as the beating heart of Portuguese winemaking. Renowned for its production of simple yet delicious wines, this region runs along the Atlantic, shaped by the influences of Tejo, Setúbal, and Bairrada. The coastal vineyards, kissed by Atlantic winds, and those nestled inland amongst hills and mountains, together create a unique terroir.

Explore Lisboa's diversity through its nine appellations grouped into three geographical clusters. Bucelas, Colares, and Carcavelos near Lisboa, Torres Vedras, Alenquer, Obidos, Arruda, and Lourinha in the middle, and Encostas d’Aire in the north. Among these, Bucelas shines for its distinctive white wines made from Arinto grapes, known for freshness and longevity. Colares stands out for extraordinary Ramisco wines, grown in sandy coastal soil.

White Wines: A Maritime Elegance

Lisboa wines are distinguished by their proximity to the sea. With an Atlantic profile, the region crafts vibrant and personalized whites, among the finest in Portugal. The temperate climate, mild temperatures, and high rainfall contribute to slow maturation, preserving acidity and aromatic richness, producing  fresh whites with citrus and mineral notes.

Red Wines: The Harmony of Aromas

Lisboa's red wines captivate with aromas of blackberry, red currant, coffee, cloves, and black pepper. Balanced body and freshness set them apart, drawing comparisons to esteemed regions like Chile and California. The region's commitment to excellence shines through, creating red wines that resonate with an international audience.
