Located in the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey, Lisbon Wines & Liquors opened its doors to serve the local community almost 50 years ago. A complete remodeling and new ownership occurred in 2008 at which time the store was enlarged and modernized. This reinvention enabled us to greatly expand the variety of products offered and the services we provide our customers.
Today, Lisbon Wines & Liquors is a full line liquor store offering wine, spirits and beer that meet our customers’ every taste and price range.
However, we are most proud to specialize in wines from Portugal. Portuguese wines offer a great value in today’s wine market and are often produced with varietals that are found only in Portugal. As such, Portuguese wines are often considered the wine worlds’ best kept secret.
We also offer one of the area’s largest selections of Port wines dating as far back as 1910. All our Port wines are imported directly from Portugal, where the true authentic “Porto” is produced. These wines, and the Port Houses that make them, carry a long rich history dating back centuries. On this website, you’ll find Port vintages, colheitas, reserves and LBVs along with aged ports and explanations of what all
that really means.
So, whether it be a rare wine from a specific region in Portugal, a special Port vintage produced the year you were born, or that great almond cordial or cherry liqueur you tasted while visiting Portugal, you will most likely find it here. And, if we don’t have it, we will gladly order it for you.
This on-line store is our latest venture and will hopefully allow us to reach many customers that are unable to visit us in the store. We offer products that are not available on most other wine websites and
offer them at much lower prices than in areas outside the Ironbound.
